Always Planning Something...

Welcome Back

I am truly excited to be here with you behind the keyboard once again. I realize I have a lot to account for... my dropping out of existence for multiple years and perhaps someday, I'll share, but... today, I just want to be happy about not only DECIDING to re-vist the Bag of Bones Podcast, making it even better- but also taking ACTION to reinvigorate the Blog as well.

If I'm being honest, this is my favorite way to share content. It can be personal, it can be educational, it can be a bit of both.

The Podcast will be the MAIN thing, and the Blog will be secondary, but for now, these written episodes are helping me get back into the rhythm of creation.

When I originally created the Beyond the Bones Blog, it was meant to be an extension of certain podcast episodes. Sometimes I discover new details or updates. Sometimes an author will find a new take on a topic. Or sometimes an episode grabs my audience's attention so much, we need to go deeper. I love that!

And all of those things will still be applicable, but the Blog is taking on a new dimension.

As many of you know, I love history of all kinds! I am fascinated by things, people, places, inventions, lifestyles, beliefs, that were in place long before I was born. I totally dork out on "This Day in History..." Love. Love. Love. I don't know why; can't explain it; I just go with it.

This dovetails into another listener/reader request- "does it always have to be dark history?" "...maybe you could write about some happy things?" "I love hearing about the entertainment in our history... music, books, art". "... can we still sign up for International Bones?"

The Beyond the Bones Blog, let's me do just that... go beyond the bones... I can basically write an article on any historical topic, right? Lol! I'm putting this practice into theory in this way... in the History Revisited Newsletter (which you should TOTALLY sign up for) I'm giving This Week in History, bite-sized tidbits- and I'm going to go deeper into one or two here in the blog. (The other bonus about the Newsletter, is that it will also pull This Day items from the podcast episodes, so in case you haven't heard it or want to hear it again, you can link right to it.

I really am excited for this... I need this accountability to keep me moving forward and I'm so thankful to YOU for being here and connecting with me and being a part of this whole re-invention.

All that to say- Welcome Back! Let's turn back time and revisit the past! The good, the bad, the ugly, the entertainment, the foreign, all everything in between, one blog at a time.
